Mac will not turn on
Apple's own order matters here and most people skip the first step: confirm the cable and the socket before you touch the power button. Then hold the power button for about 10 seconds, then unplug every accessory and try again. A single faulty peripheral really does stop a Mac starting.

A deeply flat MacBook can need half an hour on a known good charger before it shows any sign of life. Use the original charger if you have it. Use a different cable, a different plug and a different wall socket, because any of the three can be the fault.

Press power and pay attention. A fan, a click, a beep, a light or a faint backlight glow all mean it is powering up and the fault is further along. Total silence and no lights is a different fault to a machine that starts but shows nothing.
