Xbox HDMI port repair in Sydney

Power light on, TV says no signal. On Series X, Series S and Xbox One that is usually a damaged HDMI port, and it is a board-level repair we do on our own bench: free diagnosis, fixed quote, no fix no fee.

The signs it is the HDMI port

Power but no picture

The console chimes and the light comes on, the controller connects, and every TV input says no signal.

MOST COMMONport or retimer

Loose or wobbly cable

The plug no longer clicks in firmly, or the picture drops out when anyone touches the cable.

PORT WEARcaught early = cheaper

Bent or blackened pins

Look inside the port with a torch. Bent, flattened or scorched pins mean the port itself is damaged.

PHYSICAL DAMAGEport replacement

Worked until the console moved

Pulled off the shelf by the cable, dropped in a house move, crushed in transit. The port takes the hit so the board usually survives.

How the repair runs

This is genuine micro-soldering, not a cable swap. The board comes out, the damaged port is desoldered under the microscope, the pads are cleaned and a new port is fitted and tested.

Free diagnosis

We confirm it is the port and not the HDMI retimer chip or the power side, then quote you a fixed price. Retimer faults are board repairs we also do in house.

Board-level replacement

Old port off, pads inspected and repaired if needed, new port on. Done with hot air and a microscope, not guesswork.

Test and warranty

Full picture and stress test before pickup. The part and the workmanship are covered by our warranty.

The same fault on a PlayStation is just as fixable: see PS5 HDMI port repair. And when diagnosis points past the port to the retimer or deeper on the board, that is micro-soldering territory we also handle, with your approval before any work.

Xbox HDMI questions

Can an Xbox HDMI port be repaired?

Yes. The HDMI port is soldered to the Xbox mainboard, so it is replaced at board level: the damaged port is desoldered under the microscope and a new genuine-spec port is fitted. It is one of the most common Xbox faults we see, and one of the most fixable.

How do I know it is the HDMI port and not the TV or a setting?

Try another cable and another TV input first, and look inside the port with a torch for bent or blackened pins. A console that powers on with no signal on any screen usually has port damage, but the same symptom can come from the HDMI retimer chip on the board. Diagnosis is free, so you know which it is before spending anything.

How much does Xbox HDMI port repair cost in Sydney?

$159 fitted for Xbox Series X and Series S, $139 fitted for Xbox One, parts, labour and our workmanship warranty included. If diagnosis shows the fault is the retimer chip rather than the port, you get a fixed quote for that board repair before any work starts.

How long does the repair take?

Most Xbox HDMI port replacements are turned around in 1 to 2 days once the console is on the bench. We confirm the timeframe with your quote.

Is it worth fixing, or should I buy another console?

A $159 port repair against several hundred dollars for a replacement console is easy maths, and your storage, games and saves stay exactly where they are. If we find damage beyond the port that changes the picture, you hear about it at the free diagnosis, not on the invoice.
